ADVERTISEMENT EFFECTS

Advertising is one of the most effective ways to sell products, nowadays companies spend more and more money on advertising. The advertisements we see on TV and the Internet trigger and increase in consumption. Unfortunately, this can lead to overconsumption and eating disorders among both teenagers and children.To begin with, one of the most significant effects of advertising on children is overconsumption. Unfortunately, one of the reasons why many families suffer from financial problems is overconsumption. Parents who want to make their children happy try to provide them with everything they want. Many teenagers are addicted to brands such as Nike, Apple, and so on due to good commercials, so these teenagers always want to buy newer versions of these products. Sadly, it might be difficult for some parents to meet their children’s demands. All in all, overconsumption may result in not only economic problems but also dissatisfaction. In brief, commercials negatively influence children and teenagers.Another unfavorable impact of advertising is eating disorders. Particularly, fast-food commercials contribute to poor eating habits, which lead to disorders like obesity among children and even teenagers. Although teenagers are obsessive about their looks, they generally prefer eating fast food on account of effective advertisements, availability and affordability. Unfortunately, obesity cannot be treated easily. Furthermore, it causes low self-esteem among teenagers and it becomes an enormous obstacle to leading a healthy life. Shortly, it is obvious that there is a strong correlation between advertisements and eating disorders.To sum up, advertisements have many negative influences such as overconsumption and eating disorders. While overconsumption causes a burden for the family budget, eating disorders bring about a low quality of life.

                                                                                 WOMEN AND MEN

It is an undeniable fact that the world is changing has been in many ways especially over the last two decades. The traditional roles in society were affected by this change to a great extent. Men and women have undertaken new roles both at home and in the work place. Women started working outside the home more than they used to and men began equally sharing responsibilities at home. The lately, traditional roles of men and women have considerably changed at home as well as in the business world.

Family life is different in many aspects when compared to the past and the most significant aspect is a change in responsibilities. Traditionally the mother only worked at home and the father worked at a job. Nowadays, however these roles are changing. Now both parents are considered equal and each one is able to provide for their family. In brief, the roles of family members have changed in terms of responsibilities.

Another place where roles have changed in society is in the business world. In the past, women were not expected to get a job and earn money. Whereas, nowadays more women have a job also they are able to become a manager or a director. As a result, the roles in the business world have undergone major changes.

To sum up, in recent years it seems that the traditional roles in society have changed, dramatically, both at home and in the work place. Society began accepting the idea of women working in order to earn a living and men assuming more responsibilities at home.

I think this picture reflects  differences between people in a best way. I chose this picture because the boy in the article is disturbed due to his nationalty. This picture reflects all human can be friend. Color of the body is not important. Nationality is not important.

                                                At Home With Mama

            I chose this article because I found it title interesting. Let me summarize this article first. A man in Italy lives with his mama although he is 33 years old.  He lives with his family because he feels comfortable at home. He does not have responsibilities to pay the bills, his mother washes his clothes. His mother does not questions where he is going or what time he will be back. All of these makes men comfortable at home. Also, mothers feel that they do something for their son. Therefore, they feel happy. There is example in the article. I want to give this again. A boy studies in university. His mother sends lasagna, tomatoes, wine to him every week. Men get used to be cared.   If I had not read this article, I would have always thought that all European men are independent from family. For this reason; it makes me surprise. I like the article because it emphasizes different reasons of living with family. The most interesting point living family for me is due to economic reasons. I could not believe it.  Also, they get used to their mothers’ caring.  

I think this picture summarizes everything in the article. Mother still has son eat something although he is old enough. I think reason of this situation is the mother.                                                      PAPA, THE PHILOSOPHER

There is an Italian family in the passage. The boy of family does not realize any difference about their nationality until he enters the high school. When he enters the high school, he start to be ashamed of being Italian because their accent, their meal and their living are different from his friend. One day, his friends tease with him and throw cake on his face. When he goes to home, he locks himself in the bathroom. Then his father comes and says to him that he should not be ashamed of being Italian, he is different from them . Therefore, he calms down a little. Then he realize he is not the only one that is behaved like that. 

I chose this article because it emphasizes differences among people and to accept these differences. I think it is important that people accepts other people as they are. Today negro people encounter discrimination mostly in the society because of the fact that they are black. They are exposed to discrimination in the society. Or else, when we go to another country, they easily know us with our behaviors, selecting meals or color skin. However, living with differences is important. Why we are not like them should not be upsetting for us. The another point is that sometimes children are ashamed of parents when they are little. They can like friends’ family. For example; they can like their house or attitudes of their parents. I think the article is a great example for all of them.

                                                      CATS AND DOGS

Many lives!Although most of the times we think that we are the only inhabitants or owners of this world, it is an inevitable fact that planets,animals constitute an important part in the world and in our lives.Humanity has an intimate and mutual relationship with animals throughout history.They have made use of animals for many reasons ranging from using them for labour to keeping them as pets.The most popular ones as pets are cats and dogs.Both cats and dogs make good pets but they have significant similarities and differences in their nature.Firstly,cats and dogs are so abundant in number and variety that one can have a genre he likes.They both can be looked after inside and outside the house.Moreover,these two species are quite popular especially with kids.When it comes to their care and diet.they show quite interesting similarities.Either of them need to be vaccinated and have periodical check ups.Though most of the times they are thought to be enemies,we can observe them being one of the best companions of each others.Secondly,we can say a lot about their differences.They are so different from each other in some certain cases that there is an expression used for people ,that is '' being like cats and dogs'' which means they can't get on at all.Unlike cats,dogs are much more loyal to their owners.It is nearly unlikely that a dog will leave or run away while there is always a possibility that a cat will disappear all of a sudden no matter how much we love it care for it.That may be because cats have a more independent nature and dogs see their owner or other members in a house as family.Whereas dogs are very obedient and so easy to train, cats' independent soul prevents it to be solely dominated or trained by human.In the conclusion ,we can say that both cats and dogs make one of the best companions of humans.

Cats and dogs are entertainment of our life. We accept them as a part of life. We live,travel with them and they become our friends. When we spend time playing with them or sometimes we watch joking cat and dog, we can relax. We don't want to leave from them, we take them where we go. A cat ar dog's care is important. They need special care. People ,that have a pet, spare their time to their pet.

                                  CHILD BRIDES

In today's world , many young people are forced to marry with elder people.As they have no rights to say stop for this situation,they have to endure.While they nothing about marriage,family;their family marry them off and some problems can occur.Firstly,girls,that are married off at very early age,don't live their children.They have responsibilities such as cleaning,washing,bringing children up.They have to do all of them,because they don't have the rights to education and working.Secondly,marriage of children is considered to be a violation of basic human rights.These include sexual or psychological abuse.Because girls that are at early age don't grow enough,the experience of pregnancy can be traumatizing for them.They are more likely to have double the pregnancy, as they can't control their urine after a period of time .This may cause death.There are reasons of early marriage.Economy and tradition are two of the reasons.Families that have economic difficulties and children excessively see marriage as a solution,and so they think that they reduce economic responsibilities.The other reason is tradition.According to the some traditions;if a girl are not marrried until she is 16,this is an an abnormal situation and it isn't accepted by the society.In some parts of the world,marriageat early age  is common such as Egypt,Afghanistan,Bangladesh.For example;in Afghanistan it is believed that between 60 and 80 percent of marriages is under the age of 16.Throughout the world, more than 51 million girls younger than 18 are married, even though it is outlawed.The more control is made,the more child marriage is prevented.

I chose this video because I thought that it would show more clear what i wrote about child brides.In this video,When Saida was 9 years old,it was represented a woman that got married sixty years old man. Although She was too young to get married, in Afghanistan this situation is different from some country.Their society and government do not accept girls that do not get married until they are 16; so they have to get married at very early age.After Saida's father had died,her brother sold her to old man as his wife despite being little.That man had a bad reputation and he sold her to different men in exchange for money.She had to be with him 7 years.What she wants is going to school because she thinks that it results from lack of education in Afghanistan.To sum up,Saida is the only one of them in Afghanistan or other part of world.There are many girls like Saida.

THE COUNTRY GIRL

I wanted to share a part from The Counrty Girl which is a film of Grace Kelly. Kelly, the Philadelphia girl who became a glamorous fashion model in New York, played her natural image in every respect in "Rear Window" and "To Catch a Thief". However, Kelly's character is the opposite of what she appears to be in the early stages of the film. She plays the wife of hard luck Broadway actor-singer Bing Crosby, who has never been able to assuage the guilt he felt over not being able to save their son and only child from death in a New York traffic accident.

This is a story of life lying from actress to princess. Grace Patricia Kelly was born on November 12, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She had a deep interest in performing at a young age. She performed in school plays. In addition to participating in school plays and community productions, she occasionally modeled with her mother and sister. After she graduated from high school, she decided to pursue her career in New York despite the fact that her parents objected to her. Despite this, Kelly enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. As a student, she modeled part-time and appeared in ads for Old Gold cigarettes and on the covers of magazines like Cosmopolitan and Redbook.After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York at age 19, Kelly sought a career on Broadway, but she found it tough going. Don Richardson, one of her directors and teachers later said, "She would never have had a career in the theater," because she had "great looks and style, yes, but no vocal horsepower." Kelly soon found that films that was more amenable to her talents. Then Kelly soon moved to Hollywood. She would eventually feature in 11 films and star in over 60 television productions. Some of her most famous roles include The Country Girl for which she won her Golden Globe and Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Rear Window and To Catch a Thief. 

1955, she was asked to join the United States Delegation Committee at the Cannes Film Festival in France. During a photo shoot, she met Prince Rainier III of Monaco, who happened to be seeking a bride. After marrying Prince Rainier on April 19, 1956, in a very public and ornate ceremony, Kelly abandoned her acting career in order to become Princess Consort of Monaco. She was also required to give up her American citizenship, and Prince Rainier banned her films in Monaco.Grace Kelly remained in the public eye for most of her life. Her on-screen beauty, self-confidence, and mystery enchanted the world, and her serenity and poise as Princess Consort piqued the media's attention. Of this attention, she remarked with typical humor and grace, "The freedom of the press works in such a way that there is not much freedom from it."
